Announcing the Arrival of Kalia Marie Walker

Kalia Marie Walker was born on April 6th, 2009 at 8:58 am via c-section.
Will and I checked into Triage at 7:20 am and Dr. Brown attempted another version but it was not possible, due to the fact that Kalia had done another flip and gone transverse on my left side (which was the opposite side of where she was when she flipped back to transverse. Once Dr. Brown announced we were going to have to do a c-section, things moved rapidly from there. I walked myself across the hallway into the Operating Room, got prepped for surgery while Will waited outside until they had completed the anesthesia, and in 20 short minutes, Kalia Marie was delivered. Dr. Brown and his team did an amazing job! Kalia and I were so lucky to have such great care. Special thanks to the nurses in the Birth Center at Valley Medical Center who gave us wonderful care while we were recovering.
We've been recovering in Lakewood under the wonderful care of my mom and Will's mom. We are so grateful for such amazing parents! I could not have recovered so nicely without all of the help.
Braylon has transitioned beautifully during this time. He is always asking about Kalia if she isn't in the room with us and he gets a kick out of her tiny toes and fingers.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates on our new family....

Kalia Marie arrives soon...

We are scheduled to go in for the birth of Kalia Marie on Monday, April 6th, 2009. She has already exerted her independence by flipping back into her transverse position after the external version was completed. My ob will try to complete another version on Monday morning and then I'll be induced so that Kalia will not have a chance to flip back again. If the version is not successful, I will have a c-section.
It's going to be an exciting week for us and we're looking forward to everyone meeting her!
Braylon is going to be a great big brother!
Here are a couple of pictures of Bray on his birthday day at Chuck E. Cheese. He loves to play the "big" kid games.
