Feelin' Hot Hot Hot

We finally have our summer weather here in Washington. This weekend- we spent some pool time down in Lakewood. Braylon is turning out to be a big water baby. He doesn't like to get out of the water when it's time to go home. Will and Braylon sweat all day, and I just soak up as many sunrays as I can. The days of soaking myself in baby oil are long gone for me, but I still enjoy being in the sun whenever possible.
We had fun at the Oakbrook swimming pool with the Schulers on Saturday. The kids swam the whole time we were there except for during the 15 minutes of adult swim time. Hopefully- the weather will continue to cooperate and we'll have a warm sunny summer.
This next week- Braylon will start going to daycare close to home. I have mixed feelings about daycare but overall- I think he will love it, and enjoy being around kids his own age. He's started going to my dear friend, Sonia's house on Fridays. Everytime I go to pick him up- he doesn't want to come home with me. He's having a blast with her two boys. They take good care of him and he does silly things to make them laugh. Kudos to the Pamboukas family for opening up their home to our family to babysit Braylon on Fridays. He loves it! (and we do too!)

Father's Day Weekend June 14-15, 2008

This past weekend, my best friend, Denise George and I decided to take our sons on the 5k Sound to Narrows walk. The boys did great. Braylon actually fell asleep about a mile into the course. We made out like bandits with all of our freebies! Denise probably thinks I'm crazy for grabbing so many different bottles of flavored waters. And really- Did we need the noise makers and two water bottles? The free apple from Costco was pretty darn tasty at the end of the race!

Father's Day- we spent with my family on my parents boat, The Lady Mae. We set sail in the afternoon to Dockton, Vashon Island. Finn, Stacie and Riley came down from Bellingham. It was great fun to see them. Riley is hysterically funny these days. (ask her to do her "hula hoop impression). Miss them! Ruth and Rob also came along for the fun.
We had great weather and a nice BBQ, and even had a whale-sighting.
We're looking forward to some nicer weather around here now that summer is beginning this weekend.

Flying through the Spring

Here's a picture of Braylon resting after his ER visit.
With all the rain we've had- the main thing we're trying do to is keep ourselves dry and sane. I'm ready for some sunshine.
The most exciting news is that Braylon has officially started to walk now. He can get somewhere by walking (if he chooses). So far- he's about 50/50 on this new endeavor, crawling still seems to be his favorite mode of getting somewhere in a hurry.
We experienced Braylon's first visit to the emergency room this past week. He was running a high fever, so Will and I took him to the ER at 2 am. I don't know who the visit was more tramatic for- his parents or him. Needless to say- Bray is getting back to normal now but I can definitely say that the ER is not his favorite place to visit.
He loves to look at anything trucks, motorcycles or airplanes. Some evenings we take him to the Renton Munipical Aiport to check out the cessnas that are taking off and landing.

Does life get any better than french fries and looking for airplanes?
