Happy First Birthday, dear Kalia.

A year ago, on April 6th, 2009 at 9:01 am- Kalia Marie Walker was born. It has been an amazing year for all of us. Being laid off has been a blessing in many ways, I have gotten to spend an entire year watching Kalia and Braylon grow, learn and become individuals.
We celebrated Easter at the Walkers with Gram, Steph and the girls and Grandpa and Grandma Magelssen and had a little celebration with cupcakes and the most amazing doll cake by grandma Magelssen. Julie, Jackson and Savannah and Denise, Andrew and Erik came over to help Kalia celebrate her 1st birthday. It was a fun day for everyone.
Today- we will have dinner at Red Robin (like we did for Braylon's 1st birthday) with the Pamboukas family. I'm going to take Braylon to pick out a gift for Kalia later today, although he did inform me that "Kalia doesn't get anything," in his most authoritative voice.

We love you, Kalia. Happy 1st Birthday!

Happy 3rd Birthday to Braylon

Braylon,
Daddy and I are so proud of you. You are growing up to be such a sweet boy. Today- we celebrate your birth day. I remember it like it was yesterday. What a special day it was. You are a tender heart and love your little sister. You really love spending night time with Daddy and talking trains, Monster trucks and Cars. You like to talk and play sports. You love having movie night with popcorn. You love to eat snacks. You love beef and rice, all types of fruit and let's not forget, french fries. You have a great sense of humor. You tell me to "hold me bigger" when you want to be held. You are very cautious about everything. You don't like anything that is not "right".
Today we celebrated with Amy/Brynn/Auntie Stephanie at the Family Fun Center. Sunday- we will have your friends and family birthday party at the Lakeside Club. The theme will be Thomas the Train.
Happy Birthday, Braylon.
We love you,
Daddy and Momma

Lots to update about the kids...ie- Bray is almost 3 and Kalia will be walking in a matter of days.
I promise to work harder on getting updated posts on here and include pictures too!

Happy Mother's Day 2009

We celebrated a beautiful Mother's Day 2009 this year. I have much to be happy this year about which of course, includes my two beautiful and most precious children that so proudly makes me a Mother! I just can't believe how blessed I really am!
We went to brunch with my family at Lakewold Gardens and Grandma Magelssen showed us around the grounds and went over the different plants/trees with us.

We had dinner at Mammy/Pa's house with Gram, and the Longs! Braylon throughly enjoyed socializing with Jesse and Jamie.

Kalia slept most of the time but she did have a great awake period as well.
Both of my children still continue to amaze me everyday. Braylon continues to be a great big brother. He will let us know that "Kia" (his version of Kalia) is crying, needs a binky, as well as if she has her eyes open or is sleeping in the car. I am so happy he is in love with his sister still! (I know that will change at some point but hopefully I'll be able to remember these current times) Kalia is a great baby. She rarely makes a fuss and is a great eater and sleeper. I will look back at these blog entries as a reminder of what an easy baby she was, so when she's showing her true teenage colors, I can try to laugh it off...

Announcing the Arrival of Kalia Marie Walker

Kalia Marie Walker was born on April 6th, 2009 at 8:58 am via c-section.
Will and I checked into Triage at 7:20 am and Dr. Brown attempted another version but it was not possible, due to the fact that Kalia had done another flip and gone transverse on my left side (which was the opposite side of where she was when she flipped back to transverse. Once Dr. Brown announced we were going to have to do a c-section, things moved rapidly from there. I walked myself across the hallway into the Operating Room, got prepped for surgery while Will waited outside until they had completed the anesthesia, and in 20 short minutes, Kalia Marie was delivered. Dr. Brown and his team did an amazing job! Kalia and I were so lucky to have such great care. Special thanks to the nurses in the Birth Center at Valley Medical Center who gave us wonderful care while we were recovering.
We've been recovering in Lakewood under the wonderful care of my mom and Will's mom. We are so grateful for such amazing parents! I could not have recovered so nicely without all of the help.
Braylon has transitioned beautifully during this time. He is always asking about Kalia if she isn't in the room with us and he gets a kick out of her tiny toes and fingers.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates on our new family....

Kalia Marie arrives soon...

We are scheduled to go in for the birth of Kalia Marie on Monday, April 6th, 2009. She has already exerted her independence by flipping back into her transverse position after the external version was completed. My ob will try to complete another version on Monday morning and then I'll be induced so that Kalia will not have a chance to flip back again. If the version is not successful, I will have a c-section.
It's going to be an exciting week for us and we're looking forward to everyone meeting her!
Braylon is going to be a great big brother!
Here are a couple of pictures of Bray on his birthday day at Chuck E. Cheese. He loves to play the "big" kid games.

Happy 2nd Birthday, to our Darling Son, Braylon

Today at 4:59 pm, Braylon will officially turn 2 or how he likes to say it- "dos". It is hard to believe that it's already been two years. It really does seem like just yesterday that I was giving birth.
We have enjoyed every moment of watching him grow up to be such a precious little toddler. We love you, Bray! Thanks for being such wonderful son!
